Inspiration, a partner and a direction...

This blog has been quiet... Sometimes I wonder if there was any point to this, maybe we should just move on...

But then I scroll down the page to the few dreams we have already collected, the handful of visitors we get each month and remember the elation and joy on the day we had 500 visitors in just one day...

We have a good thing here and I don't want to give up, do you?

Come on Malaysians, if you happen to wander by and share our vision - please drop us a line of encouragement and some ideas. Let's make something happen, I know we can together...

We need you, inspiration, a partner and a direction

Work Culture Revolution

My dream for Malaysia is for our corporate sector to experience a revolution in work culture.
I dream of a Malaysian workforce which is well developed, healthy and strong, where diversity is celebrated, where people are empowered to dream and be the best they can be.

I dream of a day when work life balance is the rule and norm, when Malaysians find their voice and produce excellence and ideas which will rock the planet...

We need to work together to help each and everyone be more efficient and effective, raise the competitiveness of our economy on the world map, build a sustainable & powerful work culture which will make Malaysia a hub where foreign talent and investments will flock to.

What will you do differently tomorrow at work to help make my dream come true?

Dream come true! Keep dreaming peeps :)

KUALA LUMPUR: Laut, the Malaysian restaurant in New York City, has been awarded the prestigious Michelin star for its achievements in Malaysian cuisine.

Having a Michelin star associated with a restaurant means the restaurant is not only among the best in the city but also in the world. Two other Malaysian restaurants in the city, Nyonya and Fatty Crab, also have been acknowledged in the 2011 Michelin Guide for New York City restaurants, said the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) in a statement today.

The three restaurants are participants in Matrade's Malaysia Kitchen Programme.

"The award complements the goal of our Malaysia Kitchen For The World campaign. We are confident this prestigious award will generate more excitement about Malaysian cuisines worldwide," said Wan Latiff Wan Musa, Matrade's New York-based trade commissioner.

Matrade’s Malaysia Kitchen Programme is a Malaysian government's initiative to promote Malaysian restaurants overseas and create awareness of Malaysian cuisines.

Malaysian restaurant owners overseas who participate in the programme can access extensive promotional support, which includes public relations initiatives, financial facilities via EXIM Bank Bhd, exposure at international gastronomic events and promotional tie-ups with hotels and airlines. - BERNAMA

FREEDOM FILM FEST 2009

comes to London...

Date: 6th February 2010

Time: 2pm - 6pm

Venue: Amnesty International UK [map]

The Human Rights Action Centre, 17-25 New Inn Yard London, EC2A 3EA

We are proud to bring to London and to share the latest edition of the Freedom Film Festival this time, showcasing films made by Malaysians in line with the theme of "Real Change?" --- exploring change, searching for change, questioning change.

Come spend a Saturday afternoon watching independently made documentaries that will provoke the mind, pique the curiosity and inspire! (Malaysia Boleh!)

Films that will be featured include 'Kayuh' about the 100+ ordinary citizens who cycled the length of Peninsular Malaysia to raise awareness about the plight of the marginalized in Malaysia, 'No Silver Lining' which showcases a 'political wrestling match' in the state of Perak, while another features the revisitation of two singer-songwriters of the 1985 massacre in Memali, Kedah.

After the 'political tsunami' of the 2008 general elections - this latest offering of award winning films from the Freedom Film Fest examine the question of 'Real Change?' -- and will provide those interested in keeping up to date with recent events and developments in Malaysia a chance to find out more through the lens of these Malaysian film makers.

Join us in discussions after each set of films and enjoy the opportunity to connect with others who hope for a better Malaysia. Bring friends and family, all are welcome!
